Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) has appointed Chaudhry Mahfooz Aslam Dhillon as Divisional President Faisalabad and Tayyab Khan Baloch as President Sahiwal Division besides appointing district presidents in a bid to reorganise its body for Punjab (West). KBP appoints new divisional, district presidentsAccording to the KBP Central Secretary Information Haji Muhammad Ramzan, KBP (West Punjab) President Dr Abdul Jabbar Chaudhry in consultation with the KBP Central leadership had appointed Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah as President Chiniot, Sufi Rasheed Ahmad Toba Tek Singh, Malik Umair Farooque Jhang, Mian Rehanul Haq Faisalabad, Shaukat Ali Okara, Rana Bashir Ahmad Pakpattan and Chaudhry Saeed Randhawa as President District Sahiwal.
Speaking on this occasion Dr Abdul Jabbar expressed the hope that newly appointed divisional and district Presidents would utilize all their energies to ensure solution to the problems faced by the growers' community and play their role in disseminating message of the Board to each and every village.
He urged the government to announce a special package for growers like it announced for the industrialists and traders.

Kissan Board Pakistan (KBP) has welcomed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif'sNawaz Sharif's decision to form agricultural development advisory council and give incentives to agriculture sector so that it could play its pivotal role for economic, social and political stability in the country.
Addressing a meeting of the farmers' organisation here on Sunday, central president of KBP Sardar Zafar Hussain Khan said that the real representatives of the forming community should be included in the council in order to make it a worthwhile and result-oriented institution.
He said the government must realise that it is the agriculture sector that is backbone of the economy, provides food security to the nation and major source of raw material for textile, tannery, cottage industries and SMEs. KBP welcomes formation of agriculture advisory councilHe regretted that the farmers are agitating for not getting proper prices of their produce and hard work and are being forced to pay inflated electricity bills, high prices of fertilisers, pesticides and other agriculture inputs that have unbearably increased cost of production, Sugar mills are also blackmailing and fleecing the growers by not starting the crushing season on time and forcing them to sell their commodity at throw away prices, he added.
Zafar assured that the farmers can bring about a real economic revolution if they were given incentives and financially viable prices of their commodities keeping in view the cost of production. There is a vast scope to increase per yield of various crops provided farmers were given necessary incentives, he added.
The KBP president also called upon the Prime Minister to call a meeting of the countrywide representative bodies of farmers as in case of trading community and industrialists to have their input for quantum jump in the agriculture production.
KBP office bearers Sarfraz Ahmad Khan, Chaudhry Manzoor Gujjar, Haji Mohammad Ramzan, Chaudhry Noor Elahi Tatla, Dr Mohammad Nawaz Cheena, Dr Abdul Jabbar and Malik, Fiazul Hassan Bhutta also attended the meeting.

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) Central President Sardar Zafar Hussein has urged the rulers to immediately declare water as a national asset and make efforts for implementation on Indus Basin Water Treaty instead of entering in to any new agreement with India. KB urges government to declare water as national assetHe said that the government should give preference to shortage of water being created due to Indian water aggression against Pakistan. Only solution to energy crisis is construction of immediate new dams. Zafar, while reacting to the Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif's statement of doing a new agreement with India instead of following the Indus Basin Water Treaty, KBP Chief stated that India had already deprived Pakistan of 90 percent of the river water by construction hundreds of new dams due to ineptness of Indus Water Commission officers, past and present rulers.
In the eyes of Kisan Board, the biggest issued being faced by Pakistan today is water shortage and Indian aggression against Pakistan but present rulers, in the love of India, were totally ignoring this harsh fact endangering the economy and sovereignty of Pakistan. Meanwhile Agri Forum Pakistan (AFP) Chairman Dr Muhammad Ibrahim Mughal in an e-statement on the similar issue alleged that India has launched a silent war against Pakistan and constructing many new dams on Jhelum and Chenab.

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) President Sardar Zafar Hussein Khan has warned the present government, showing its keenness for cordial relations with India, to take serious notice of Indian decision of construction of Baglihar dam, which may turn Pakistan in to a barren land. image
In a statement issued here on Friday, Sardar Zafar Hussein strongly reacted to Indian decision of constructing Baglihar Dam. He alleged that India had already constructed numerous dams on Chenab, Jhelum and Sindh rivers due to ineptness of our rulers and Indus water commission officers. India had already deprived us 90 per cent water of these three rivers and now its fresh decision of constructing Baglihar Dam and connecting all the newly constructed dams and rivers would complete deprive Pakistan from river water, he added.
KBP Chief terming this as a water aggression against Pakistan said that our industrial and agricultural sectors were facing a big disaster like situation because of this construction by India. He said India on one hand depriving Pakistan from its share of river water while on the other hand our rulers were playing the role of silent spectator.
He said talking about free trade with India was equal to approving this water aggression and betrayal with the bloods of Kashmiri martyrs. He said that the rulers should immediately start construction of new dams in Pakistan besides highlighting Indian water aggression at international level. The Board also urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan to direct the rulers for construction of new dams on the pattern of Indian Supreme Court to save country from becoming barren and creating any food security situation.

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) Central President, Sardar Zafar Hussain Khan reacting to provincial budgets announced by the Punjab and Sindh alleged that the provincial governments have totally neglected the farmers' community. He said that the Punjab government provided subsidy on electricity tariff for agricultural tube wells in the past which provided a much required relief to the growers but withdrawal of subsidy in new budget would multiply the hardships of the farmers.
Zafar claimed that all the countries across globe provide subsidy to farming sector for fetching desired positive results but it seemed rulers had taken the decision to strangulate agriculture in the country but not extending any kind of subsidy. He said there had been a need to introduce flat rates for agricultural tube wells on the pattern of Balochistan.
